grid performance.
MetryView Software
The MetryView server and software collect, analyze and visualize the data which are monitored by our sensors.
MS5000
The sensor MS5000 is an online wireless system which monitors the activity and consumption of your medium voltage overhead line.
MS3010
The MS3010 is a supporting tool which can be used as a gateway or router that integrates with the MS5000 sensors.
Service and Support
Our Service doesn’t start or and end with a sensor. We support you with identifying the first project, the right sensors and help you afterwards with the analytics of your data.

MS5000
The MS5000 is an online wireless system for overhead distribution and sub-transmission lines that complements distribution management systems (DMS) and provides online information about faults and grid operations. It uses proprietary hardware and algorithms to support low power consumption while ensuring the high stability needed for large radio networks. The radio system was purposely designed to successfully operate in the harsh conditions of power lines and has a proven record of doing so in the field.
Advantages:
- Unique powerful fault detection algorithm for high impedance faults
- Backup batteries last for up to 3 years in low power mode
- Reliable fault detection in all types of grids (solid-grounded, floating, neutral, SWER, and Petersen coil)
- Using integrated IPv6 low-power mesh network
- Maintenance free, highest quality
- Exceptional cyber hardening
- Sensors run detection algorithms locally
- Identify weak spots in MV overhead line networks

MS3010
MetrySense 3010 is a gateway/router that integrates with MetrySense 5000 sensors, allowing radio-mesh networks in locations with limited cellular coverage.
The MS3010-RU, on the other hand, is a router unit that can extend the coverage of the mesh-radio network and can also interface with the utility communication infrastructure.
Advantages:
- Allows gird monitoring in areas with limited cellular coverage (e.g. in rural areas)
- Connects with hundreds of sensors for a network coverage of up to 100 km
- Low power consumption with integrated solar panel
- 10-year typical battery lifetime
- Reliable operation in harsh conditions

MetryView software
The MetryView server and software combination performs two-way communications between deployed sensors and RTUs in the field, It then, analyses the data that has been collected and partially analysed by the sensors, and visualises the results with a diagram on the screen which can be interacted with using an intuitive user interface.
The software gives you the ability to:
- Analyse and classify fault information and periodic measurements in the grid level
- Display the information on an electric diagram and on the map
- Maintain a historical database and support easy browsing of past information and analysis
- Integration with other systems such as SCADA DMS (distribution management system), MDM (meter data management) and OMS (outage management systems)
- Run on either the customer's own servers or, alternatively, on Megger's secure cloud server
- Visualise and navigate to faults via smartphone app
Service and support
Megger not only provides the hardware and software for your grid analytics, but we also offer consultative support prior, during, and after your grid analytics package is implemented.
Our expert technicians and engineers outline your grid needs and issues, and determine sensor locations, measuring and communication hardware needs, and optimal communication and server configurations. We support you during and after installation, and we are available to help analyse your data and results.
Technical support and training are an integral part of every step in the process. After full monitoring projects are installed and data has been collected over a period of time, data scientists from Megger can analyse the data in order to identify trends in your grid which can help with asset management and preventive maintenance decisions.
Our service contains:
- A worldwide support structure, available both locally and remotely, to help with every step
- Flexible software and server support options
- The ability to test our service with a pilot project prior to larger investment decisions
- Expert knowledge of cybersecurity, hardware, and software
